A Cognac-heavy sidecar with less Cointreau and lemon than the classic, rounded with a quarter ounce of rich demerara syrup. Half the rim is sugared and a flamed orange twist goes on top.

Ingredients

Multiply

2 oz Cognac (Hine)
3/4 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz orange liqueur (Cointreau)
1/4 oz rich demerara syrup (2:1)

Instructions

1.
Moisten half the rim of a chilled coupe with a lemon wedge, dip it in a dish of sugar and shake off the excess.
2.
Shake all the ingredients with ice, then strain into the prepared glass.
3.
Flame an orange twist over the drink and drop it in.
