Irish coffee with the cream shaken rather than whipped, just until thickened and still pourable, then layered over sweetened coffee and whiskey.

Ingredients

2/3 cup hot espresso or brewed coffee
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 1/2 oz Irish whiskey
1/3 cup heavy cream

Instructions

1.
Warm a heatproof glass with hot water, then discard the water.
2.
Shake the cream in a cocktail shaker, or whisk it, until thicker but still fluid.
3.
Add the sugar, the whiskey and then the coffee to the warm glass, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
4.
Gently layer the cream over the surface with a flat-bottomed spoon and serve at once.
