Amaretto Sour (A Couple Cooks)

An amaretto sour stiffened with a half ounce of bourbon and given body by an egg white, dry-shaken for foam with a couple of dashes of bitters.

Ingredients

Multiply

1 1/2 oz amaretto
1/2 oz bourbon
1 oz lemon juice
1 teaspoon simple syrup or maple syrup
1 egg white, optional
2 dashes aromatic bitters (Angostura)

Instructions

1.
Shake the amaretto, bourbon, lemon juice, syrup, egg white and bitters without ice for 15 seconds.
2.
Add ice and shake again for 30 seconds.
3.
Strain into a glass, letting the foam collect on top.
