1 large yellow onion, diced
6 cloves garlic, minced
4 Tbsp Butter
1lb ground beef
Two 28oz cans whole peeled tomatoes
One 12oz can tomato paste
2 Tsp salt
1 Tsp onion salt
1.5 Tsp oregano
Lasagna
one package (8-12oz) oven ready lasagna noodles
3/4lb cottage cheese
1/2lb shredded mozzarella
3/4lb Parmesan

Sauce
In a pot, saute diced onions in butter until brown.
Add garlic, saute for a minute or two
Add ground beef stir until mostly browned.
Add whole peeled tomatoes, tomato paste, salt,
Simmer for two hours or until thickened (I recommend using a splatter guard)
Assembly
Start Preheating the oven to 350 Degrees
In a 9x13 baking dish, spread 1/3 of the sauce on the bottom.
Place half of the lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.
Layer 1/2 the cottage cheese, 1/2 the mozzarella, and 1/3 the parmesan
Layer 1/3 of the sauce, remaining noodles, and the cheeses.
Spread the remaining sauce on top.
Sprinkle the remaining parmesan on top
Once the oven is preheated, bake for 40 minutes (or until bubbly).
Let stand 15 minutes before serving.
